Practical travel tips
Useful information for international visitors — transit, payments, connectivity, and safety in Korea.
Get a T-money Card
T-money is Korea's rechargeable transportation card. Usable on subways, buses, and taxis nationwide including Daejeon. Available at airports, subway stations, and convenience stores (CU, GS25, 7-Eleven). More convenient than buying individual tickets.
Download Navigation Apps
Google Maps has limited public transit functionality in Korea. We recommend Naver Map and KakaoMap — both provide real-time navigation, public transit routes, and English-language support.
Taxi & Ride-Hailing
Taxis are widely available and reasonably priced in Daejeon. International visitors may use Kakao T and Uber. Most taxis accept major credit cards and T-money cards.
Payment Methods
Credit cards are widely accepted in Korea. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are commonly accepted at hotels, restaurants, and shops. Still advisable to carry a small amount of Korean Won (KRW) for minor purchases.
